Telling and re-telling of paranormal tales and ghost stories are the unofficial national past time in Singapore. From entities in Malay folklore to that in Chinese mythology, everyone will have at least a story to tell. Every story is unique in its historical background and context of events. For example, a ghostly tale about a coolie who died in an accident in the late 1800s or an apparition of a soldier from the last World War will let us complete the historical records and gain insight into the historical development of events from a very personal level of an individual who lived during those times. In order to preserve the legacy of Yongsan Garrison to its fullest, we need to capture all records of ghostly encounters in the base for posterity.
