In April 28th, 1896, Indepent Newspaper has reported the first recorded baseball game between US Military and civilian team took place near Seodaemun.

History writes that baseball was first introduced to Korea by American soldiers in the 1890s. And in 1958, President Syngman Rhee watched a game between St. Louis Cardinals and Team Seoul in Dongdaemun.

Baseball is a tremendously popular sports in Korea. In 21st century, 8th Army Band frequents Jamsil Baseball stadium to play tunes to cheer up and remind  the origin of Korean Baseball.
